This Privacy Policy applies to the collection, processing and utilisation of personal data on this website, “trooves.com”, including all ancillary and sub-pages (hereinafter jointly referred to as the “Portal”). A. Preliminary Remarks
The operator takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and strictly adheres to the applicable statutory rules of data protection, in particular the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz [BDSG]) and the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz [TMG]). Personal data are particulars on a specific or identifiable physical person’s personal or factual circumstances. These data are only collected to the extent required, either for technical reasons, to execute the contract or for the purpose of efficient use of the Portal. They shall be processed and used by or on behalf of the operator in Germany, and always on internet servers operated in the European Union. Personal data shall only be disclosed to third parties if and insofar as this is required for technical reasons, to execute the contract or for the purpose of efficient use of the Portal (for example, to the bank to process payment), or unless otherwise expressly indicated below or if so ordered by a public authority or court of law or otherwise required by law.
B. Use of Data
I. Declaration
Your personal data shall be collected, processed and used regardless of whether or not such data were provided using a form. Form-dependent data are data you provided using a form on this website (cf. C). Form-independent data are the data you provide to the operator’s servers without entering your data on a form and that are required for either the provision or improvement of the Portal (cf. D). You may access the content of this declaration at any time by visiting this sub-page and also save or print it using the corresponding function on your internet browser.
II. Withdrawal
You may register your objection to the use of your personal data to the operator at any time with future effect, for example, by sending an email to the email address listed above.
III. Access, Rectification, Deletion
You may request information from the operator on the personal data stored about you, as well as its correction or deletion at any time with future effect, for example by emailing the email address listed above. If and insofar as deletion is not possible, for example, because legal retention requirements preclude this, your data shall be locked where possible.

C. Form-Dependent Data
The data you have entered in a form on the Portal shall be collected, processed and used when the respective form is utilised, specifically once the form has been submitted. The data used includes your real name, your postal address and your email address. If and insofar as you have set up a user account on the website (registration), the data provided in each case shall be stored on the operator’s servers. You may view this stored data at any time through your user account and you may correct this data using the corresponding forms. You may of course also contact the operator personally to do this (cf. B).
I. Newsletter
The operator provides a free newsletter subscription service via email. Should you wish to receive this newsletter, you must provide us with a valid email address. We also need additional data to verify that you, as the owner of the email address provided, agree to subscribe to this newsletter. We employ what is known as a double opt-in method (DOI), which means you will receive an email with a unique link to confirm your registration (confirmation link). Only after confirmation will you receive the respective newsletter. In addition to your email address, the time, date and IP address of the registration and confirmation as well as the confirmation link shall be collected, processed and used for the DOI, its verification and to prevent abuse. No additional data are collected. The data collected are solely used for the purpose of sending the newsletter; these data are not disclosed to third parties. Should you wish to unsubscribe from the newsletter, you may of course contact the operator personally at any time (cf. B).
II. Contact Form
If and insofar as you contact us using a form, the data you provide in the contact form shall be sent to us. The transmitted data shall only be used for the purpose of processing your request. No automatic processing or use of your personal data beyond such data transmission is undertaken in this regard.
D. Form-Independent Data
Data the operator needs either for the provision or improvement of the Portal is collected, processed and used without the use of forms. This includes statistical data in an anonymised form.
I. Cookies
The Portal uses so-called cookies in several places. These are small text files stored locally by your browser. Cookies serve to make websites more user-friendly and secure. Most cookies are so-called session cookies. The use of this type of cookie ensures, for example, that no other user is able to access the data you have provided in any form or in your user account. Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of each visit to the Portal, such as when you close your browser. II. Statistical Data
The Portal uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). Google Analytics also uses cookies to be able to analyse the use of our website. The information about your use of this website generated by a cookie is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, we have enabled IP anonymisation, meaning your IP address will be truncated by Google in advance of being transmitted to the US within the Member States of the European Union, or other States party to the agreement in the European Economic Area. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for us, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will not associate the IP address transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics with any other data held by Google. The operator takes both technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access. Specifically, our servers are password protected. Only persons who require access to your personal data to perform their duties have access to the same, and only to the extent required.
