The famous Victoria & Albert Museum in London shows us the colorful world of Frida Kahlo and how much her art and her personal fashion style were influenced by Mexico’s traditional handicrafts and vibrant colors. This unique exhibition has inspired us and is the inspiration for our latest edition. We’ve been tracking down the field and discovered and brought along many beautiful, handmade products on our road trip across Mexico. To this day, traditional handicrafts are produced in many regions of Mexico. It not only ensures the cultural identity of the Mexican population, but also the livelihood of many families and villages. The craftsmanship is passed on from generation to generation. Small cooperatives manufacture according to traditional techniques and use traditional motifs, e.g. from the fauna and flora of Mexico. From colorful hand-woven baskets to elaborately hand-embroidered cushions – the kaleidoscope of colors that is used in every one of the different arts is particularly typical. Many of the beautiful, colorful pieces have already landed in our interiors a favorite place, now we would like to give you the opportunity to brighten up your interior à la Frida Kahlo and to buy one of these beautiful handmade unique items – let yourself be inspired!
