There is already much too much plastic in the world today, so we are going to make a counterpoint in this edition – and focus on beautiful designer items produced from natural materials. Here we consider Mies van der Rohe – less is more – and present objects that perfectly comply with this concept. The Waiter side table from Zeitraum made of grained walnut wood appears almost like a sculpture and the noble wood comes fully into effect with its pure form and round corners. We also find a beautiful simplicity in Manufactori’s Vintage chair. Rustical, natural-coloured leather covers the seat and provides a great contrast to the fine iron frame. A chair that becomes better with age! Bright copper brings for us a Glam Twist. The Nouveau mirror by Danish design-duo Hugau & Larsson simultaneously combines two copper tones. The mirror with its geometrical pattern is a cool mix of the ‘80s and Art Nouveau. The small table lamp Peppone from Formagenda with its flattering conical form is also a real highlight for us. An exciting fit to the smooth surfaces are soft and cuddly accessories. We were really excited about the bed cover from Malagoon with its hand-knitted look and two-tone structure. Of course not to be left out in this edition is glass. The mouth-blown Futura glass lamp from EBB & Flow combines organic shapes with pastel colours, elegant smoky tones and metallic details to create beautiful lighting. Below, more faves – be inspired!
