Other than known designer brands, it is important to us to seek out small but exquisite manufacturers whose products are not available everywhere. In our first edition, we had presented a few pieces from the HB-Ritz series by Hedwig Bollhagen and were not alone in our enthusiasm for these wonderful ceramics. We have therefore decided to dedicate this edition to HB-Ritz and to introduce you to some more favourite pieces. Some of the designs were already created in the 1930s by the ceramics artist Hedwig Bollhagen and were years ahead of their time. The combination of clear form and beautiful, unusual graphic designs is unique and makes these ceramic objects modern design classics. The vases and objects fit in every interior with their black and white vividness and graphic patterns and set individual accents. We think it is beautiful to combine a number of vases and objects together because the patterns are strikingly emphasized in the mix. The HB-Ritz series, produced by the HB-Workshops in Marwitz, northeast of Berlin, is still an insider tip among design fans. Due to its elaborate manufacturing technique, it is produced only in small numbers and 100% in the workshops. Each object is handmade with loving care and is as such a unique specimen from which one has a lifetime of joy as well as an investment in a piece of ceramic art. We hope we are able to spark enthusiasm for these beautiful pieces – be inspired.
